About Dakota

I graduated with an A.A.S. in East/West Therapeutic Bodywork from Centerpoint Shiatsu and Massage School in Minnesota and have been practicing professionally for over six years.

My training amounts to over 1400 credit hours in:

  • Namikoshi Shiatsu and Shiatsu-Anma, which is a blend of Eastern acupressure, stretching and therapeutic massage techniques. Practitioners use the same acupoints as acupuncturists and sessions can be done fully clothed.
  • Western therapeutic massage, which encompasses sports, Swedish, trigger point, deep tissues, myofascial, active release and intraoral therapies.

I also utilize vacuum cups, muscle scraping and my trusty hypervolt massage gun.

My blend of modalities is effective in treating a person’s physical problems and can also address the underlying energetic imbalances that cause or contribute to a person’s physical, mental and emotional difficulties. I have had a lot of experience helping people with all sorts of range of motion issues, TMJ disorder, headaches and migraines, thoracic outlet syndrome, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, chronic pain and a lot more.

The majority of my practice has been focused on helping people with occupational and traumatic injuries but I can give an excellent relaxing massage when a client really needs it. I have also really enjoyed helping mothers, from prenatal to postpartum, with their physical and emotional stress and even have experience with labor facilitation.

I frequently hear that what I do “hurts so good” and, while therapeutic massage can be really uncomfortable, it doesn’t have to be. I can work at whatever level is necessary to help my client, and that is the whole point of what I do; I want to help my clients get better.
